Hello everyone. Just traded my 2011 Toyota Prius 160k miles for a 1999 Lexus LX 192k miles. The car is used a little rough (which is what it’s meant for). However my main concern is that the previous owner only used regular (87) gas/fuel in it. How bad is this and what should be my next process as I want to start putting premium (93) gas/fuel in it again.
ps- Will this last me another 50k miles? This is my dream car and I don’t wanna see it die because of the wrong fuel the previous owner put all its life.

The fact that 87 octane got it through 160K means it seems to work. Congratulations on the new truck. More info, including a long dissertation on octane is on ih8mud.com in the 100 Series section.

We drive a 2001 LX that just turned over 200K...I bought it used with ~ 70K. We've used both regular and premium gasoline, primarily no-ethanol as it's available in our general area. Ethanol gas tends to degrade (melt) rubber fuel lines over time. Iirc regular unleaded here is ~90 octane and no knocking when driven. Absent no-ethanol gas,,,pay close attention to ethanol percentage..e.g., .my 2013 Land Cruiser says NO 15% ethanol on the gas cap. The question tends to end up in a pissing match. ;;

I see what you are saying. Do you recommend I switch it to 93 right after it empties? Is there any thing I need to do to to flush out the gas tank or just start putting the 93 in it directly after the 87 emptied.
