Hey guys, how are you? I hope you can help me. When I bought my truck (2000 LX470) it came with only one key which is a master key but the lock button doesn't work on it and the key is somewhat tattered. But it works just fine so I'm not complaining. However, to be safe also, I realize I need to have a second key for my car in case I lock one in or lose the only one that I have and there has to be a better answer than take it to Lexus and they'll do it for you in a few hours and charge you a fortune. Can anybody help me or guide me in the direction I need to go to get an original OEM Lexus key for my truck and also cut and programmed. I'm also curious is the programming easy enough to do on your own? I've done it on cars before you just have to know whatever the hidden secrets your computer has which buttons you have to press, how many times to turn the key, that sort of thing. If anyone could show me how to program one of these keys and or guide me in the direction of buying one and having it done I'd really appreciate it. Unfortunately, I'm disabled so money is extremely tight. Thank you in advance.
