Default Air Compressor

I have an 08 LX and the air compressor died. Has anyone had to replace theirs? It is not a cheap repair!

Are you talking about the suspension air compressor or the air conditioner compressor?

If suspension, welcome to the club. Yep, you are likely looking at $2,500 and up for the part and labor. I decided to trade mine in as it sat on a new LX at that point, especially as it needed new tires ($1000) a new windshield (insured but they would only pay for aftermarket glass, so $600 out of pocket for the Lexus brand), and had started to leak a bit from the radiator crack in the usual spot ($2,000 with prophylactic water pump replacement added).

Hey, sorry I guess I should have given more detail. It’s for the A/C. I don’t think any type of repair on this car will be cheap. Glad to have it fixed because we are in Georgia and it gets hot here!

The LX does not have an air compressor for the suspension. It is a hydraulic system.

It's not just the LX... AC compressors are usually pricey... not to mention one will need to bleed the AC freon and recharge it afterwards.

Can you explain for me why Lexus lists a part called an “air suspension compressor” for the third
generation LX 570, please ?

Part number is 4908160010, I do know that the LX height control system is fluid or hydraulic based, so what role does this $2,000-plus part play?

No idea. I did find this in Wikipedia but have no clue what they are referring to "The front suspension's air bag spring rates are variable, but not continuously like a fully active suspension arrangement. "

Probably a better question to be asked on mud.

I am only aware of the GX having an air suspension and maybe the LS (although I imagine it is hydraulic as well)
