Default Solutions for cracked wood trim

Hey- I’m new to the forum and a new ‘09 LX owner. What are some solutions to the cracking wood trip on dash and console area? Thanks!

Replacement of the wood garnish is advised.

I tried 2 sided VHT tape. Held OK in some spots, not so well in others,
Some people have tried epoxy with good luck.
Replacements are available but start at about $500 per piece.

@Ratchey Thank you for sharing your approach. Would you happen to have the part numbers or know where is the cheapest place to purchase replacements? My experience is dealers vary significantly in price.

The prices that were once around $400 are all $740+. $500 new will hopefully will ensure that it won’t crack again. It’s crazy, but seemed like the better option.

Check https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/lx5...y-fix.1311635/ for a different tack. It should last longer than Toyota's wood.

Part arrived in good condition from Dubai. However, it is not the correct trim color. I will attach a picture below. They told me the correct part for my vin color is not available. Also, partsouq has a policy that they only receive DHL for returns and they won’t give you a return label. DHL wanted to charge me $224.00 to ship back! So, I have a beautiful, brown toned wood dash piece pictured below. Back to the drawing board. Just wanted to share my experience to perhaps save others from the same.

Im interested in the trim piece you got from Dubai that doesnt match your LX. It matches mine. DM me if you still have it and interested in selling.

CarolinaBanker, your settings will not let me DM you. I would be happy to sell this to you. It’s still in the box from Dubai.
