Default Cold air intakes

Has anyone put an after market cold air intake on their LX570? I would like to hear that V8 a little more when driving but I’m also hesitant messing with anything under the hood since these rigs are bulletproof.

imo it's not worth doing.... this isn't built for power but rather comfort n utility.m if u want more power the new v6 does give more power but not to the AMG feel.

That’s fair. I have no issue with the power, I just like how it sounds.

I am not getting you.
HOW is an air intake supposed to change the way the engine sounds?
You can replace the muffer with some aftermarket one, but you run the risk of messing up some of the pollution sensors in doing so

Default If it's sound you need...

...just start with an air intake on the roof.

Because your intake (whick is already a cold air intake) has a noise suppressor built in to reduce the sound of rushing air.
Adding an aftermarket intake really does change the sound of the engine.

Stock air box has two resonators to silence the engine if you were to cut them off the engine will scream.

It still has not been explained to me how aftermarket cold air intakes are called that when they draw in air from the engine bay unlike the stock system.

Sounds like it’s not worth the hassle then. Thanks for the input.

Let’s just leave the ol girl stock then. No use screwing anything up. Thank you.

If you want a cold air intake, you should get one. It is your LX and you can modify it any way you desire.

Don't install a hot air intake 99% of the time they loose power and the factory airbox is better on every car.

Thumbs down Essentialy the same HP between OEM and K&N...

...except louder. Replacement filters are simple, maybe not so simple with K&N.

Me? I have much better ways to waste money than on the K&N.
