MY 2017 LX is approaching 100,000 miles. When scheduling a 100k service, I asked my Lexus dealer service writer (SR) about servicing/flushing the transmission fluids, changing filters, screens, etc. My SR told me the transmission is sealed and NEVER requires servicing...WOW!
I didn't expect that comment and I'm having a hard time accepting that concept.
What are your thoughts or experiences on this issue with your LX?
Thanks in advance for thoughtful comments. 😊

I was told the transmission on my 2007 SC430 was sealed too but my Lexus shop manual has the drain/refill procedure, its a PIA compared to the older process on my 2002 SC430.
anyway, its not sealed and there is a procedure to change the ATF.
i found this video of a fluid change. It’s not in English, but you will get the idea from watching. I believe he is speaking Indonesian or Malay.

Just did a full fluid exchange on my 2015 LX 117k miles. Love how smooth it is.
Neither dealer is competent enough to do them, hence the comment from your service advisor.
If you’re not going to do it yourself, go find an independent shop with specific experience doing exactly this work on exactly your model (LC200 or LX570).

yeah, i have not done it myself but i was told you take off the driver's side front wheel and there is a fill plug revealed.. You need to get some sort of shnozzle in there and suck out the old stuff and put in the new stuff. It seems like a DIY thing.
what i am more worried about is them saying the same bull about my AHC fluid when i bring her in for a 100K service.
generally speaking, you do not want a full transmission flush in an old car as that can cause far more problems than it solves. but new tranny fluid, installed with a minimum of agitation, is all good!

I would just go for drain and fill for the transmission fluid more often say 30-60k. This way you don't have to worry about a full flush on an older tranny. This is much simpler and DIY. Make sure to open the fill plug and then just drain the pan. Refill and check level with the tranny up to proper temp range. The LX 570 has the combination drain and overflow tube in the same plug. I think know one really believes in lifetime fluid if you are going for max tranny life.
The AHC system is definately a 60k change per the manual but may less if you really want to extend life of the accumulators.
