it looks like a cross between a Nissan Armada and a Ford Expedition, but I would buy it, it looks pretty hot

Does anyone agree that there's no reason for two mid-size SUVs?

are you talking about LC and Sequoia?

I think LC would be more like a halo car and it's a big deal for toyota, while Sequoia is to compete with dosmetic trucks such as GMC YUKON etc.

I'd take LC any day over Sequoia.

I think Sal Collaziano is talking about the GX and LX as the two mid-size SUV's. The Sequoia is truly a full-size SUV it's evern bigger than the previous Expedition by a few inches here and there.

I would take the LX and a full-size SUV which we are still waiting for from Lexus any day...

In regards to the GX and LX, I don't agree. When I bought my LX, I test drove the GX and wasn't comfortable in it - I'm a big guy and there just wasn't enough elbow room for me. In the LX, I'm very comfortable. I think there's enough to differentiate the GX and LX to justify the 2 models - the LX is significantly bigger. If you think about it, the GX is roughly equivalent to the 4Runner, the LX and LC are pretty much the same, and Toyota has the FJ Cruiser, RAV4, Highlander, and Sequoia on top of all that. I can agree that there's probably no need for the LC / LX overlap given that they're so similar, but the LC / LX size vehicle definitely has its place in the lineup.

I still find it hard to believe the LC will be a new design for 2007 MY. Maybe a spring 2007 release of a 2007/2008 model after the auto shows, but I just don't see a fall 2006 (2007 MY) arrival. JMO and I hope I am wrong.

I hope Toyota doesn't drop the LX/LC, but I think its likely, since the FJ Crusier captures the classic LC idea and image. Originally, the LC was a go anywhere, do anything kind of vehicle, not the plush leather and woodtrim covered SUV its become. It seems likely that the LX will become a Sequoia based vehicle . Hopefully, they will improve the Sequoia to meet the quality of the LX/LC. That's my 2 cents.

Default Next LX will be a 470/570

Last spring, I was told lights out on the cruiser and the LX would be the deal. More recently, while comming back from Thailand, I suspect the Sequoia will share a lot with the LX. I did see an actual photo of a blue SUV w. a Toy logo that matched the white pic. Bigger and more juice. Toy wants everyone getting a truck V8 to feel the power.

Any confirmation/rumors?

wow, that nose sure looks overdone! At least, after looking at this, you can appreciate the LX570 more!
