Lexus LX570 to debut at NYIAS

the deabte for the gx and lx goes way back if you research lexus was actually trying to replace the lx with the gx but with drive shaft problm etc the lx stayed on; toyota pasy over 10k in tarifs alone for each suv they bring in to the usa. the lx (100 series) sells real well alll over the world so importing a few even though size is similar to the gx its not hard for toyota. as for the full size version lexus was going to take over the seqoia and have that version. they still have lots of options for the full size you just have to wait there were several spy shots of different suv; one i remeber looks just like the new tundra so i would guess that is the seqoia

the gx470 was brought in originally as a temporary measure to fill the void between the rx and the lx while they were studying the idea of bringing the hpx concept to production. the gx was to be a quick fix since it was already in production overseas as the land cruiser prado. lexus had no idea the gx would take off as well as it did and when it did, they shelved the hpx concept and stayed the course with the gx. it was never intended to replace the lx at all.

The spy shot with the LS-style NAVI screen supports your points.
I am curious about the dealer recommendations, but then again they were not fully satisfied with the original LS 400 either. We'll see what comes out. I am however not expecting a huge stylistic change based on the spyshots. It's also possible there may be a controversial styling cue done to look more 'modern' -- the recent redone Toyota SUVs come to mind. I hope it competes favorably with the Mercedes GL class.

I am no Lexus fan but I personally think the current 07 LX470 favorably competes with the GL.

I'm glad Lexus didn't drop the LX in favor of a "JX" which IMO sounds like a smaller vehicle (the name itself). I would've hoped the LX get bigger but I realize that would impact its off-road capabilities.
