Not totally true. The new Tundra has a mixed-design frame, where the current Land Cruiser/LX 470 has a fully boxed frame. We shall see what type of frame and platform the new LC/LX 570 sits on.

I would hate to see LX based on Sequoia which I really don't like.

Your argument that suv's with irs are all car based is deflated by the Lincoln Navigator and Expedition which have had irs since 2003 and they tow as much as any suv, the new Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade lack irs because GM chose to carry over the live rear axle for cost savings not because it's a better setup, in addition to better ride and handling you can fold the seats and a create a completely flat load floor, I expect the 570 to come out of the dark ages of suspension.
Land Cruiser is an real truck that needs to handle the beating of everyday's rough road, and never falter.
As to the folding seats, that has nothing to do with it. In fact, more complicated suspension takes up more space, and not less. Problem with that is in that big SUV's, you end up with very high floor (check new Land Rovers and how little space is between "flat" floor windows).
They managed to solve this issue with Rav4 by re-arranging the suspension, but then again LC is not an Rav4.
Land Cruiser (both GX/LX and 100/120) is really not built for US roads, and it sells a lot more in Europe and other countries than in the US. So we will see what happens with that...

[QUOTE=PhilipMSPT;2518956]Based on the Tundra, in which the Landcruiser AND Sequoia AND GX AND LX are based on.

Not at all... They are all variations of Land Cruiser platform... cheaper models are on simplified version of the platform.
