I know a true SUV should be able to go off-road, but I doubt that even 5% of SUVs sold/bought in the U.S. even get to see a dirt road, much less go off-road.
And even if the SUV (Lexus or not) can go off-road, most luxury SUVs are primarily and functionaly made and designed to provide the maximum amount of cargo and passenger space in one vehicle.

well that's just not how Lexus does it.
there are minvans for that. Sienna, Odyssey, Rclass
It's beyond me what some of the board members were expecting. Lexus is a conservative company, the GS/LS/ES and now LX are all tame designs.
It's either too tame, or over the top (IS-f)
Lexus isn't trying to become Audi, most of there customer base isn't looking for flashy vehicles. Many on this board may love Audis, but Lexus is the direct opposite.

Talk about plain. That looks like some plain SUV that should be going through a jungle in Thailand, not a Lexus. I never realized how plain it can look without the body cladding. Also from the pic, it looks more like a supersized Rav4.
Still holding out hope that it's a fake.

First off, we should never judge a car until we see it in person. This picture however is UGLY and there is no doubt about that.
The IS/ES/LS all look the same - but they are attractive cars (IMHO - and in most others too!). The GS is a beautiful car (IMHO - but most agree as well). The RX is probably one of the best looking sport utes out there - even the GX is decent looking - albeit a bit skinny.
But this? OMG.... there is no L-finesse here whatsoever....
The IS/ES/LS all look the same - but they are attractive cars (IMHO - and in most others too!). The GS is a beautiful car (IMHO - but most agree as well). The RX is probably one of the best looking sport utes out there - even the GX is decent looking - albeit a bit skinny.
But this? OMG.... there is no L-finesse here whatsoever....

Let's wait for all the pics and all the info before judging this.
Some of you people have to keep in mind Lexus is not copying anyone else, and the LX is not supposed to be some Q7 clone. The LX always was, and is known for it's great luxury and superior off-roading capabilites. The Q7 or the Escalade are not known for that.
