Default 5.7 litre engine problems

I just read that the new Tundra (which I believe is the same 5.7 litre engine as in the LX570) now has a problem with the torque converter. I am assuming this is also the same setup as on the new LC, which I believe is being shipped currently. Any news?

Did you also take into consideration that the Tundra is made in America and the LC/LX is made in Japan? I think not.

But I bet it's a safe bet that all of the engine and transmission components are all manufactured in Japan.

I believe the very first few 5,7 Tundra engines came from Japan

No way Lexus allows the powertrain gremlins from the Tundra to make their way into the new LX. I think enough heads have rolled at Toyota to get the problems addressed.

Wasn't it only the first Tundras equipped with the new 5.7L engine to have issues?

I heard the bad camshafts were traced to a faulty casting at a US supplier.

Them would be the show Tundras that were hand built. Toyota refused to sell Tundras with Japanese made engines for some dumb marketing ploy.
