DVD Entertainment System Question

I have had my LX for about a month now and am loving it.
DVD is the front changer where you put the CD's. Once you load a DVD it wont go to the hard drive like the CD's.
I needed to go to the dealership for them to show how to have the headphones work seperately from the car audio (audio output if I remember right), I sat in there for an hour trying to make it work.
Kids love watching the navigation in the rear as we drive.

Can you play a CD at the same time that a DVD is playing? If so how?
No, if the DVD player is playing, that is all you can hear, unless a recieve a phone call, and if the kids are using the Headsets, the sound can be silenced, but unable to do 2 functions (i.e.: DVD and radio) at the same time.
