It is tinted. Darker than my LX460. Could be darker but suits me fine.

Could it be possible it is not a money thing, Lexus and many of the owners simply do not want it. I would like tinted so I do not feel the "fish bowl" effect but from you are saying, privacy glass is very dark! Not for me.

You dealer should be able to tell you a "close" date. Call and see if they have more information. Mine even gave me the ship name and date it would arrive at the Jacksonville Port. He was right on the money by saying that it would arrive at the dealer ship two days after driving off the ship.

Thanks everyone. I will be doing some images this weekend. Just got the new Nikon 14-24 and 24-70 lenses and will be testing them out on the car this weekend!

Congrat's to you.

Would you mind updating us time to time on your real world MPG? I really like the idea of more power and the improved suspension but to be honest, our 2006 LX470 is right on the cusp of where my conscience will allow me to go as far as fuel efficiency is concerned.

I'm not a tree hugger, per se, but I do feel a bit guilty using finite resources and for some reason the 15mpg that we get in our '06 LX470 is right about at the edge of my comfort level.

I am getting between 15.5 and 16mpg around town. I will go to Fernadina Beach this weekend and will know more about the highway mpg. So far as good as my LX470, maybe a bit better. The 6 speed does wonders as I am turning about 1250RPM at 50mph!

The extra power is nice but as heavy as this beast is, you could add a hundred more!

The dash and electronics remind me of my LS460. Added the concealed Escort radar detector and it is ready to go.
Could you please let us know if you LX has the "night-view" like in the LX470 ?
Thanks

No, night view, from what I have seen, is not even offered as an option.

Have you ever used it? I had it on my 2006 LX470 and it did not do a thing for me. Maybe is worked better out in the country side. I live in the suburbes and there we so many bright objects on the screen, nothing really stood out.

seems like the lx needed to lose some things in order to gain things and congrats on your purs\chase, hope you like, and may i say, that the new lx is a lot bnetter looking in person, while at the lexus dealership changing the oil on my mom OLD lx we saw a white on tan lx with tint and chromed wheels, even though i thought they were not yet available, and it was beautiful looking

That's great to hear. I have assumed that the 6th gear would help considerably on the freeway as I can definitely tell a difference if I keep my speeds at 70mph vs. even 75 mph on CA freeways.

Keep us posted and congrat's again.
