Tailgate
What's your opinion on the benefit of the tailgate? Specifically, I'm talking about the section that folds down. To me it's more of a hindrance 90% of the time when I load/unload the trunk, because it prevents me from reaching far into the cargo area. Maybe I'm using it wrong. Any feedback?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Personally I like the split folding tailgate. My vote for second is the side hinged barn door like the FJ Cruiser or GX460. Now a lift up hatch with power makes a lot of sense on an SUV and why a vehicle like the GX does not have one but its cousin the 4runner does is a mystery. I do prefer the side hinged but most people and the proper way to go for the GX is lift up
As for the LX, I prefer non power split folding on the LX470 over the half power LX570...
Yes it is harder to reach into the LX with the gate down but you do get to use it as a bench if you need to sit.

Every time we go in my sisters sequioa all her groceries and crap fall out when she opens her tailgate, the lx is nice because everything is held in place. When we go to the park we sit on our tailgate and can see everything, where others have to sit way inside on their back lift gate.
