Some questions about the LX 570. Please help
I would appreciate some input on a few questions about the lx from you guys.
Is there a way to set the heated steering wheel to not turn off?
Should I change the oil after 500 miles as some have suggested?
Are there in channel vent visors available anywhere ? I've searched everywhere !
How can I set the heated steering wheel to be on when I start the car?
I turn the car off with it on and when I auto start it ,it's off.
Where can I get the override code to watch DVD while the car is moving? For my wife ....
Thanks in advance !

heating steering wheel, i don't think you can set it to be on when start the car or on all the time. (someone can correct me)
personally i wouldn't worry about oil change until it's 5000 or 7500 miles (whatever manufacturer recommends)
for the override, there is no code. you can get the override kit so you can use the nav and enable video when driving. you can contact chung@prestigioussociety.com for info, tons of people with lexus cars have it

Thank you so much for your reply and helpful info. I will look into the over ride kit but I'm a little hesitant about taking my dash apart to install something behind the nav.

I would follow manufacturer recommendations on oil change (5,000 miles). I would also use synthetic oil. I buy my own oil (Mobil One) and bring it to the dealer - takes around 8 quarts. I believe the Dealer does the 5,000 mile service for free (but they will use dino oil). I would still bring in the oil and have them use synthetic.

One more question please.
Is there any way to set the screen to display only the front view without the side view when the cameras are set to auto? I don't need the side view most of the time and prefer a bigger picture of the front by default . Thanks in advance.

The Lexus/Toyota 0W-20 full synthetic oil is actually made by Mobil, but it's a different formulation than the shelf Mobil1 0W-20 full synthetic. Frankly, I think the Toyota oil is the better of the two. It's additive package is a bit better.

Any idea of the cost difference? Mobil One 0w-20 full synthetic (Green Cap - Advanced Fuel Economy) is about 6.50 per quart and is the recommended oil for the 570 on the Mobil One site.

I would not worry too much about the oil change. My husband and had a Lexus LX470 and we once went 22,000 miles with out changing the oil. I am not saying to do it but the Toyota truck engines that they use in your Lexus is build to last. Our LX hit 220,000 miles before we sold it.
