Looking for opinions about getting Lexus extended warranty
Wow, it's hard to believe, but I've owned my pre-owned 2009 LX now for almost 5 months already. That sure went by fast
So, next month my 50,000 mile original warranty will run out (April 5 to be exact). I currently have about 44,500 on the SUV. I'm debating whether to get the Platinum extended warranty. A warranty for an extra 4 years/25,000 miles is around $1,800. A 4 year/50,000 warranty is about $2,500, which would take it right up to 100,000 miles.
I'd like to hear from the "high-mileage" LX570 owners out there; can you tell me if you've experienced issues with your LXs after the original warranty period expired? I realize that there are other factors to consider, like the whole peace of mind thing, but I'd be interested in knowing whether there are issues I should or might expect to see during the next 4 years. I initially thought that I would definitely get a warranty, but now I'm not so sure. These things are so reliable, I'm now wondering if it's worth it.
Thanks!!!

$2500 does not sound too bad for another 4 years/50k. What does it cover in comparison to the original warranty. My major worry would be the engine and drive train of which if it had a problem would cost big buck$.
I have never owned a LX past the warranty but have had few to zero problems with any of the LX units I have owned. It still amazes me that they can deliver my 2013 LX and as complicated as it is, everything works perfect. Lexus is very outstanding on things like this.

We purchased an extended warranty from our dealership on a 2006 RX 400h to cover us until we were ready for our next trade, which happened after about a year into the extended warranty. We received a pro-rated refund of our unused warranty. It came in the form of a check from Toyota.
We discovered that the extended warranty would not cover the cost of "flat-bedding" a disabled vehicle to the dealership, but as we also had AAA that wasn't a problem. Otherwise, an extended warranty seems to do what it says .... it extends your original warranty beyond the original terms.

I bought mine as a CPO just because i was scared if anything went wrong it would a arm and leg to get fixed..i have mine for about 8 months i think no issues yet put almost 10k miles is at 56k... the older lx470 i had no issues, but those engines/trans been around for a while ..but i would HIGHLY recommend you for getting an extended warranty just to be on the safe side. I think you can actually get a warranty though lexus.
