Some of the confusion could be the fact that there is a membrane between the fluid and the nitrogen gas in the globes. But the fluid makes it go up and down the globes can be thought of more as part of the AVS interconnected shock absorber system that is interconnected and cross linked. Damn I think I am now confused

Air bags in the back have nothing to do with KDSS. It's a load-leveling system for towing on some GX trim levels.
KDSS is a hydraulic system underneath the car to disconnect the stabilizer bars when off roading to increase wheel travel while at the same time minimizing body roll while on-road. All GX460 come standard with KDSS.
