Potiential LX 570 owner questions
#16
checked VIN, see what you think
So the VIN is JTJHY00W494022165. I checked the service history as suggested. It seems there have been some issues as you will be able to see by looking. I would like a more trained Lexus owner's eye to see if I should maybe shy away. I am just trying to ensure that I don't wind up regretting later on. I already have one regret in my garage. Thanks again everyone, you have been extremely helpful.

You could also try looking at the current design Land Cruiser. I was originally in the market for 2014 LC and needed to purchase before end of year for the tax credit. I wanted a 2014 LX570, but couldn't justify the extra 10K over the LC (even with end of year discounts). In the end my dealer who had a 2015 LC coming in the color combo I wanted couldn't deliver in time and I ended up with a 2014 LX. If you're mainly looking at space/seating capacity then they're equal. If you're judging based on build quality the LX interior is in a different league than the LC and the LX feels like it should cost what it does.
Just another option for you to consider.

Give the Infiniti QX56 or QX80 a look. Only consider the redesigned model introduced in 2010. A little bigger than the LX but very reliable and non truck like. 50k miles on my 2010 and it's been flawless, get one with the deluxe touring and tech package.

I think this is good advise if you can't find the LX you want. I was Lucky finding my LX with only 28k miles Dallas truck dealer maintained Carfax clean looked new, built the end of 2011 so if Lexus would of had a 2012 model it would of been one. Paid $52k in Sept. They are out there keep looking. I still have 1 year bumper to bumper warranty and 3 year drivetrain warranty left.

We have 120k miles on our '08. We are the original owners. I actually leased originally it but it was in such good shape at lease-end and the residual was a fraction of its value at the time so we decided to buy it out.
Always serviced on time and no issues. We elected to get the extended warranty before we hit $50k. That was $3,xxx that could have been better spent elsewhere. We had maybe $300 in warranty claims after 50k miles.
It's a keeper for sure.
