Hey! I'm a new owner of a 2014 lx570. I was wondering since my first oil change is free from lexus, what mileage should i go in to get it? I'm currently on 4,550 miles and my maintenance reminder came on. Here is my car Bought it from NC and drove it all the way home to GA. Owned it for about 2 months now
I always change every 5k miles using synthetic. Even if Lexus will tell you 10 k mile interval
Yeah, lexus says 10k but that doesnt explain why my maintenance reminder range up on me.. maybe i have to do my 1ST oil change on the 5k mark, then for then on do 10k intervals on the oil changes?
Just finished having my first service done at 5500 miles. Since the manual says service every 5k miles and the first 2 services are complementary I plan to follow the manual. The scheduled maintenance light comes on a few hundred miles before the indicate mileage just to give you a heads up.
They want to see you every 5k miles just changed the oil change interval to 10k miles no change in oil or engine just a marketing change to lower the cost of ownership.
I think it is the 30K maint that is major. Not sure as I have seldom kept my LX till 30k but you better be sitting down when they tell you what that cost, but they actually do something and change out all the fluids like brake system, tranny, differential, etc.
its like that on my 13 too 5k inspection and 10k oil change, I have close to 50k on it now and i bought it late 2013
They changed it to 10k oil/filter beginning in 2013. Talked to a Lexus Master tech about this since I have a 2011. Like I said before its all about marketing. Nothing different between 2011 LX and 2013 LX. Same oil everything the same. He said if it was his LX he would do it at 5k versus 10k, but he said he is personally **** about oil and filter changes.

A relative of mine is a master tech - he also said he would never go 10K miles.
My '03 470 was given to a family member with 190k on the clock when I bought the 570. I changed the oil every 7500 miles and never had a problem with the vehicle other than regular maintenance. I live 2 hrs from the nearest Lexus dealer so I had my local mechanic do all the service work.
After the first two services I'll do the same thing with the 570 as I plan to drive it for 10-12 years like I did the 470.

Wait so I asked the same question to my Master Tech, though this is my first personal LX I'm no stranger to LX's. My mother and father have had 4 LX's. They had a '10 before they switched to a '14. He said its a 10k interval for oil/filter change due to Lexus making the move to synthetic oil. IDK there never ever seems to be a consensus between Lexus techs...

I'm really **** about services I get every single major and minor service irrespective of it being worth it or not. I just follow the manual. Every 30k theres a major interval service.

Lexus used 0w20 synthetic in 2011 when they required 5 k intervals. It would be great if one of you 10k mile oil changers would get an oil analysis at your next change that will tell us if 10k is pushing it. I've had enough oil analysis down on my LX470 and read others that went over 10k miles on their LX470 with synthetic and their oil looked great. BUT the 4.7 liter in the LX470 has been proven to be easy on oil. Personally I doubt 10k miles on oil/filter changes on the LX570 will not hurt anything as long as you don't push it past 10k.
