Random LX Picture of the Day - Post Yours

Great. Now that my LX hydroplaned and slid off into the median I’m concerned about tire contact patch 275 6020s have a smaller contact patch longer and narrower but 275 5520 has a bigger contact patch but it’s wider 285 5020 has the biggest contact past but I don’t think it you don’t have big enough tread void to move the water very well because of the size of a contact patch and tread pattern. The BFG a TKO’s got excellent ratings on wet driving on pavement. I’m thinking in this tire the 275 5520 would give me the best all-around performance

The wider the tire, the greater the chance of hydroplaning. While my BFG AT are good tires for on and off road, they are not nearly as effective in the rain at speed as something like a Michelin Defender LTX. Hope everyone was OK!

everyone was great except for the beast he got his :-( Front end knocked off didn’t touch the radiator but everything in front of the radiator And one wheel chipped but still was holding air. This little off-road hydroplaning adventure which cost about 16 grand to put The beast back together. should get him back the end of next week. Have to drive from Florida back Arkansas to pick him up. The water was so deep on the highway the car in front of me start doing 360s I don’t know if any tire would’ve helped.

Bidding farewell to my trusty old 2010 LX (with 155,000 miles) and welcoming my new 2017 Lexus LX. Nothing wrong with my 2010 LX - but after 8 trouble-free years, it was time. I posted many pictures of my 2010 LX on our many trips together (See first 3 pages or so) covering anything from Southern California all the way to Glacier National Park in Montana, The Needle in Seattle, Kings Canyon and many other places. Looking forward to many more great trips with my new LX. (Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion national parks are coming up soon)

Pavement princess
Running275/50/r18 275/70r18 Falken Wildpeaks on Tundra SR5 wheels. No regrets going down in wheel size and up in tire size. Hoping to get a set of Slee LX sliders this year as I've chewed up my running boards pretty badly.
