FTP - New to me 2010 LX
After incredible procrastination I now have a 2010 Canadian LX 570. 138000 km, black on grey int. loaded.
So far so good. What about mods, you ask? Great question. First compromise, um, I mean choice resulted in a set of 275/55r20 good year Duratrac tires. So far (pavement) I'm mostly experiencing the downsides...ride is at least 25% worse than the Michelin oems. However, I know how well the DT's perform and I think that for deep snow, ice, boat ramps and off-road they will make it up to me. In addition to the worse ride, they are noisier, handle worse, and seem to sap some speed. I have not checked but I'm guessing they are heavier. Again, everything is a compromise, and since my LX will venture off-road and sometimes need to deal with deep snow, overall the DT's will be worth it. I ran a set on my 4Runner for 6 years and am a huge fan.
I installed 1st and 2nd row digital fit weather tech. I've been ordering weather tech products since 1995. Unfortunately when they refused to warranty my cargo tray for my Honda Oddy I am no longer a fan. Granted, I was outside of the warranty period, but had always had the problem, had reported it to them, and they did nothing. The issue was the lip kept collapsing making the whole raison d'etre irrelevant. Still, they got my money again this time around because I just liked their product better, and ordering was easier than sourcing something from outside North America.
I have yet to install / fit the 3rd row and cargo cover.
My previous rig was an incredible 2003 Toyota 4Runner limited on a lift thanks to radflow coilovers. It also featured a shrockworks bumper and winch. It will be for sale soon, and I will miss it.
Looking forward to a great experience in the LX and I hope that, come summer, it can get me to the same place I went with the 4R without bottoming out.
