What Engine Oil and Oil Filter?
Hey Guys,
I just want to know what engine oil and filter do you use every you change it? In the past, I had used Synthetic Mobil 1 and Frame Oil filters for all of my cars and trucks and recently I have switched to Penzoil Platimum and K&N filter. I am thinking to switch to Purple Oil, which is the best oil out there for high performance, for all of my cars and trucks, but it is $50 for 5 qtr.
I can't trust those oil change stations.

I either go on Amazon or local Walmart and get two big jugs of Mobile ONE SYNTHETIC 0W20 and order an OEM oil filter via Amazon or one of the Lexus parts vendors. I change my oil somewhere between 7k to 10k mark. The LX is high enough so no need for ramps or Jack's. Very easy to do.

Royal Purple is garbage lol, save your money.
Observe how it flows like taffy in cold temperatures:
I stick with Mobil1 engine and gear oil, it performs the best in the cold flow test above and is the supplier for most Toyota oils (TGMO).

The video above might not be realistic for certain areas of US, such as CA, and Florida. However, the most damage of the parts is starting up the engine after overnight or not driving the car for while." Scar test" on the moving parts are more critical if the car has not been driven for a while. There are so many choices when I walk down to oil sections of Walmart or Pepboys. "Damn, overwhelming, what to pick?"
Some of them are so biased.

I usually let my car idle for a few minutes before taking off slowly.

I'm not by LX570 as I'm on the plane right now. I remembered just following the instructions on the owners manual.
I'll try to find a YouTube video on this topic.
Here is one for LX570
