I have had blendmount/ mirror tap in prior vehicles and would like to do the same for the V1. It appears from their website that the blend mount doesn't have a solution for this vehicle year. Has anyone done this? Do you have the schematics of where to get power from the mirror? And which mount did you use? Thanks for your response.

I think the mount and device may interfere with the technology that is surrounding the mirror mount.

If that's the case has anyone used the fuse panel on the drivers or passengers side? Does it work well? pictures would be great! thanks

I used the following (from amazon):

1)Mirror Mount Radar Detector Bracket - Valentine V1 Radar Detector
2)Mirror Tap MTX power cord with 2 amp fuse, RJ11 15in long

I chose the mirror mount due to the blend mount not working with the 2017 LX::


1. Top piece from underneath. pops out from the top and slides up from bottom.



2. Main cover piece from the top view. see the connection holes for the upper piece.



3. Main cover plate behind mirror. Slides down toward the dash to remove.



3. two orange clasps underneath the main cover which you will have to pop loose and slide down.



4. top piece slides in on the bottom and pops in the two connection holes once on the windshield.



4. Mirror wire end of the connection to tap into using the mirror tap mtx probes (4 sizes to pick from).
I choose the mirror end since it would be removed as one piece if the windshield gets replaced.


5. Another view of the mirror connection on the right of the mirror. pops out of the metal piece.



6. Mirror tap mtx heat shrink tubing placed after finding the correct size pin connector.



7. Shown are the blue, black, green wires from the mirror end, for the multimeter test to find 12v power.



8. Blue is the 12v power and the next wire black is the ground.



9. Mirro tap in place with the red 12v and black ground wires. now its time for the wire ties to the mirror wire.

The mirror mount is universal and can be used with any size mirror stub, whereas the blend mount is not. Also, the mirror mount can be adjusted by hand vs the hex only adjustment of the blend mount. I don't like the teeth of the mirror mount and it could scratch the black covering when tightening it down. In the LX the plastic covering piece is perfect for this.
