What I love about my LX 570
#16
I have a '17 LX and it's clearly a gas guzzling dinosaur. It performs and rides a lot better than it should. Unlike many of the higher end competitors to the LX that feel curiously generic in their ride, the LX somehow provides a real sense of occasion, partly due to some of the quirky layout but definitely due to the sheer mass. Whether you're a fan of the styling or not, I think the vehicle certainly has a command presence. I love mine!

Direct injection is really hard on engines. Toyota is smart and has stayed away for a reason, look at the RC-F. Direct and Port injection, why? Because direct injection leaves so many deposits, Ford's Ecoboosts are crapping out after 100k.
You need port injection to keep direct injection engines clean.

The 3.5L V6 (IS and GS), 4.6L V8 (LS) and 5.0L V8 (different variations... LSh, IS-F, RC-F, GS-F), however, have incorporated both for well over a decade, being able to tap into the power/efficiency pluses of DI. So Lexus has actually been doing it for a while.
