In reading the manual, the side mirrors appear to be automatic ( my wife's LS works this way). When automatic is selected and you go to Park they close and when you shift into gear they open.
For the life of me can't get this to work. Am I wrong that they don't open/close or am I doing something wrong.

If you set the paddle switch to the Auto position (middle), the mirrors will fold when you exit and lock the vehicle and will unfold when you unlock. The functionality is not linked to the gear selector.

Any time! And for what it's worth... I was talking about the paddle switch and the middle position, etc., which I have on my LS and had in our 2010 LX570. Then, a couple hours ago, I am driving my wife's car, the '17 LX, and it dawned on me there's no paddle switch anymore - just the 'Auto' button as part of the mirror controls. Anyway
