I would probably do the same thing , having said that I just picked up a gx460 luxury and been driving it last few days and it’s a pretty good suv.
I also have a 18 lx 570 and also owned an 08 lx. I would prefer a 06-07 lx470 over the new ones. The old ones were built like tanks. The lx470 I had just had a vault feeeling doors were heavier among other things.

We had been the owners of a 2013 GX until a couple days ago. We had 128k miles on it. It had been a very good SUV. However in need of a tax deduction I went in search of a new or new to me SUV.. The new or low mileage GXs did not excite me. Why? Because they are exactly the same thing as the 2013 with maybe cross traffic alerts. I was not excited about a repeat purchase. So I searched around for a bit for a Land cruiser to no avail. My wife is fairly picky about colors. Silver with black interior. Our GX had the light tan. And while nice looking with 2 messy boys aged 12 and 3.5. We decided darker was better. But not finding anything good out there I had resigned myself to buying another GX with maybe 20k-40k miles on it to tide us over until Lexus decides to do something new with the GX. But there on a local car brokers website appeared a 2017 loaded LX with 20k miles on it. Carfax clean. Local owner. Consignment sale. So I brought it home on Thursday. Almost didn't buy it due to the cost of replacement tires on the 21 wheels (we get lots of flats where we live and ruin tires once in awhile). But decided to go ahead and when new tires were needed I will buy some 20 inch wheels to open up tire options. So far really liking the LX. Severely disappointed in the resolution of the rear view entertainment screens. They remind me of the screens on the seat backs on airplanes from 2009. I might take them out and get a cover for where they are. Just to have more room. I'm glad I didn't really pay extra for those. Glad to have joined this forum.
