Default AC Compressor shuts off

LX570 Sport 2014

My AC compressor will either shut off or not come on at times when the temperature outside gets a bit cooler!! During the hot summer months, it works fine . .

Any ideas why this happens?

It should not run all the time. When it reaches the desired coolness the AC compressor should not run.

If it stops and has not cooled the vehicle down, it could be low on Freon and is being shut down to protect the compressor.

The AC compressor is designed to stop operating when the outside temperature is at 32 degrees or below to prevent freezing. If the outside temp is at 45 degrees and the compressor doesn't run, then it could be an issue with the system such as low freon or faulty compressor or internal temperature sensor.
