Default How’d I do on this 14 trade for a 16?

Traded my gray / black 14 LX on a CPO 16 LX / nightfall mica / Cabernet

56k miles on the traded 14

13k on the 16 CPO... all options minus rear TVs. A+ condition... Still smells new.

74k for 16 / 45 on trade for 14.

Did I do alright? I can take the beating if not

Thanks. It’s a duplicate post, but I figured I’d post here since it’s lexus specific. Curious to see if I receive any differing opinions...

Good deal had by all they will LCPO your 14 and sell it all day long for $50,000 and I think you got a good deal on the 16. What did you pay for the 14 and how many miles did you put on it that will tell you cost per mile and then you can figure if it was worth it or not

Paid $67k in December 15 for the 14 CPO with about 19k Miles. Traded for $45k with just under 57k miles, so 22k $ for just under 40k miles and 2 years.

I think you got a good deal.. As a reference I bought a "new" 2008 CLS63AMG with the performance package, listed for $126k had been on the lot for a year, 2009's were being delivered. I bought it for $79k, thought it was a great deal right! 1 1/2 years later and 15k miles decided to move to Maui did not want to take the AMG. Sold it for $60k ouch!!! AMG's value sinks like a rock, on the used car market. The thing with your 2014 LX570 is you could of driven it for another 100k miles and it would still be worth between $20-25k.

Absolutely true. I could have driven it another 200k if I wanted to. I don’t know if it was the perfect storm of a strong trade value, good $ off the 16, all of the new upgrades in the 16 interior, the fact I got 2.5% for 60 on it, and the idea of “oh f*** it.... it’s christmas!!!” that got me to do it. At any rate, I clay barred it, used a layer of meguiars glaze, and then waxed it, and it’s looking pretty darn perfect right now.... so no complaints here 😬

I think you got a fantastic deal, I am looking on trading 2013 with 31000 miles for 2016 with 11000 miles fully optioned with rear seat entertainment screen, Carmax offered $44k for my trade in and $78k for the new car. Your deal is better in my opinion. 2.5% for 60 months is fantastic, is it Lexus financing it?

Thanks for the feedback. $44k seems a little low given the mileage, but I don’t consider myself an expert there. I got $45k for the 14 with 56k Miles. I think my 16 started out at $78k and was able to get them down to $74k. The 2.5% was through a Texas credit union. I don’t live in Texas, but having family that are residents qualified me to do the loan through the credit union. That was a learning for me. The dealer mentioned that the 2.5 was super low. I said 2.9 or below was a stipulation for me to finance with them vs go thru State Farm Bank, so they knew what they had to find for me up front.

What if I said its a TERRIBLE DEAL? (I don't really know if it is or isn't a good deal) Which begs the question... Why do you need other people's confirmation of your pricing decisions after the fact anyway? You don't! All that matters is that you are happy with the upgrade you made for the price you made it for. Now go enjoy your new LX. And if you can't enjoy it due to thinking you "Might have" paid too much, its sad.

I don't see any problem in asking other people opinion, that is why we have this forum to start with, exchange of information. I for myself love such threads, so please keep it coming.

I like to solicit the feedback from others in an effort to always be learning. Did I miss something? Did I make a mistake? Did I do alright? I obviously felt fine enough to make the deal without prior input... but I like to take a look after the fact in an effort to make an even more solid deal next time around. So, I gave a valid dignified answer. Hopefully you can learn how to make your own posts come across in a more personable way in the future as well. You clearly have a lot of work to do on that front.

Thanks. I think we’re like minded on that. Inevitably, someone looking to purchase in the future can possibly gain some knowledge from this thread. That’s valuable. I know I looked at last similar threads as I formulated my deal, and it helps. Let’s not let one bad apple spoil the bunch :-)
