Cold start
Well... I just had to know. My 2010 lx started, without being plugged in, at -38C. Thats roughly -36F. It was ugly... but it worked. It sat in the cold since the previous afternoon. It was frozen solid.

Something wrong due to climate change? This winter is COLD as well as damp. Our previous cold winters used to be very DRY. High humidity makes it feel colder. I have an attached double garage where son and wife park their cars. I am the lucky one parking in the back yard. No plug in. It sat for 3 days around Christmas. This morning it started right up. I stepped on gas pedal twice, push the button, Brrrr...m. Calgary is little warmer than Winnipeg, LOL! We'll get a relief from new years day. -10C. Longest cold grip I remember in Calgary was 52 days like this without Chinook. Then cars had carburetors. V8 is easier to start than V6 or 4 bangers.

I never knew the car's thermometer could even read that low. But good to know that IF I ever find myself in such temperatures (I hope not) my LX will start. LOL from Southern California where the high today where i'm at is expected to be 86 F. (Now I did see my car read 121 F once when I was in Vegas in the summer....)

OEM alternator is fine...with the proper control circuitry between the batteries, each will be charged when it needs to be.
