We get a solid 18 on long road trips. When it’s commuting the rest of the week it gets about 14. this about the same as our GX460 that we traded in for it, without the extra ponies.
much better than our 2000 LC that gets on av. 12mpg, 14 on its best day, 11 when cruising in the city.
want fuel economy, get a Prius.

I had a suburban for a week, I was shocked at how much range almost 500 miles...and the mpg was decent too almost like the RX. It was 2019 rental and interior wasn't as shabby either. Driving wise I still prefer the LX but kids were much happy because of the larger space everywhere. I wish the LX has somewhat more range as well.

Last tank fill on the Land Cruiser showed 17.45 mpg over 240 miles. Half highway at 65-70, half in town from 20-50. I use Chevron 91 octane ethanol-free gas, drive in the ECT/PWR mode, and use the manual shifter most of the time.

The LX / LC has small gas tank compare to similar SUV. Engine is excellent (mechanically - durable) but gas consumption is higher than others (conventional fuel injection as supposed to direct injection [but direct injection tends to have excessive carbon buildup imo]...Range Rovers has better MPG but how long do they last / how reliable are they - highly questionable. Chevy / Yukon / Sub (newer models) from what I heard has tranny issues (6.2L engines). But driving a 5.7L / 6L V8 3ton SUV you expect higher gas consumption.

Interesting, I have to try manual shifting you do it because it just more of a habit? or fun?
I had a few small block 4wd 'Burbs as company cars in TX. With a 36 gallon tank, I could get from Fort Worth to the outskirts of El Paso without stopping for gas...p-stop at the halfway point was all.

Lexus Test Driver
16 LX570, average 11mpg for in-city driving, and almost 18mpg on long roadtrips fully loaded (5 passengers, lots of cr@p). I don't mind the mpg, but I do get annoyed with the more-than-frequent fill-ups...
