There is no harm. LED’s produce less heat than HID or the halogen you are replacing. Lumens does not equal heat. They way you produce light determines the heat (like electrical resistance heating a tungsten coiled wire = hot, or extremely high voltage spark jumping a gap through a gas to create a plasma = hot).

Less heat, and less wattage, and no high voltage ballast required. Superior water resistance and long term durability as well. Both of these are huge. Ballasts and xenon bulbs aren't as reliable. LEDs are designed to last the life of the vehicle. I don't like having to worry about a ballast taking a dump, which does happen quite a bit after 5 years. Happened on my ES, and it was a pain in the ***. Bulbs are also another component that will fail in 5-10 years. For me, there are more advantages with the LED technology.
None of the OEMs are using HID headlight technology anymore, which means they consider it outdated technology. Every new lighting design that I know of is LED or laser technology.

Anyone know the LED bulb type for high beam headlights for a 2011 LX 570?
Thinking of adding this to the LED low beam .

High is 9005 standard on the 2008 to 2015 LX, until the 2016 which is 100% LED except for the backup lights.
Fogs are H11 from 2008 to 2015.
