Does anyone have any suggestions how to stream Audiobooks/music on our 2009 LX570. I've heard that there are aftermarket solutions to help with this. Thanks for any suggestions.

The 2009 evidently has a line-in 3.5mm jack rather than the USB port found in LX models from 2010 on. The 2009 also has bluetooth support only for the cell phone, and not for audio streaming.

Do you use your cell phone to listen to the audiobooks? And, does your cell phone have a headphone jack? A wired connection with a double male end audio cable between phone and the LX line-in port should allow audio streaming from phone to vehicle. Or, is your goal to upgrade the LX bluetooth so you can do the streaming wirelessly. And, is adding a USB port also a goal?

I cannot say for sure that the double-male audio cable will work in the 2009. But, I did own a 2007 LX470, which also had only a line-in jack. I was able to use my older LG phone to listen to music and the audio from youtube through the LX470 sound system.

Thanks Reggie! I would like to be able to upgrade and stream wirelessly, but if the cable works that would probably be an easier solution. I assume that there's a device available that would allow you to stream wirelessly. I appreciate your response and suggestions.

Here is a short thread from the 2nd gen LX forum with some suggestions about updating bluetooth to be able to handle wireless streaming. They should work for the 08 and o9 3rd gen LXs as well.

I have a 2010 LX570 that I bought new and still love it. I plan on keeping it for several reasons not the least of which is that I hate the new grills. That aside the 2010 system has some crazy coordination problems with making calls from your iphone. After loosing your connection you must go to “recent calls” and select the call for it to work through the hands free system. I would like to upgrade to a later version of the radio / sound system that I understand has this problem corrected. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW I CAN DO THAT?????
