How's it going. I've been away from lexus and the forum for a quite some time, but am now seriously considering looking at purchasing a used 2013 LX570. It has 97k miles, asking price is $34500. I currently drive a 2017 4Runner limited 4x4 but not too happy with the 4Runner. I mean it's good SUV but I would like something larger and nicer.
The LX 1st owner was a corporate lease and 2nd owner privately owned until recently. it's being sold by local BMW dealer. All service done at Lexus until about 96k miles. I just talked to the Lexus service advisor who took care of the owner of this LX since ownership. He said it was an older couple, mainly driven by the wife. they never took it off road took annual summer trips to Colorado. I'd have to check out the under carriage to confirm there's no rust. He's confirmed they did all Lexus scheduled maintenance until their last visit where they declined maintenance as they knew they were getting rid of it. I also verified this on the lexus.com website and was able to see everything he noted. He's confirmed they did the PS fluid change, regular oil changes and AHC fluid change at scheduled intervals.
I haven't seen the LX yet. I used to own several Land Cruiser 06 and 07. I know the LX is similar.
I thought I'd get input on price point. I checked Truecar which places at "great price" and Carsgurus which places it at "good" price.
any input is appreciated.

...an interesting read, and definitely pertinent if you're trusting TrueCar...Can TrueCar Serve Two Masters?
I'll take cargurus and edmunds. That said, realize that Toyota only ships 4000 or so LX's to the North American market. I'd say the best way to check on pricing is via your lender if you're not paying cash. Also take a look at what they're going for in your area, as well as out of town.

So true.
A vehicle is only worth what another interested party is willing to pay for it at THAT particular place and time. The dealer and some other "reference" may want you to believe it is worth "$X".
I would approach it like this (in order of priority):
1. Do I like the vehicle? (You have to first like the vehicle, otherwise no reason to pursue any further).
2. Service records up to date and on time?
3. Is this the best deal I can find TODAY in the areas I'm looking at?
4. Did the car check out ok with PPI? Meaning can I live with the faults found in PPI and/or ask for more discounts?
These LX's/LC's are designed and built to go some 300K miles without any major overhauls of engine and transmission if proper routine maintenance schedule is followed.
My last gen 2000 LX470 was at 280K miles when I traded it in for a brand new 2013 LX570.
GOOD LUCK on your hunt for the perfect LX570.

appreciate the responses. we test drove the LX and the wife wasn't happy with it. She said it drove just like our 2015 Tundra and didn't want to go from a 4runner to an LX. A car was also on our list since we have a truck she kept pushing a luxury car even though I thought an LX might fit the bill.
Bottom line we agreed to look at a used LS460 instead. we test drove a two LS and she definitely likes the LS, so it will be an LS. I'll move my discussion over the LS thread.
thanks again

Well, LS is definitely smoother vs the LX since the LX is still on a ladder frame chassis. But I disagree that the LX drives like a Tundra. The LX is more refined. Oh well, gotta keep the wife happy.
Good luck with the hunt for the perfect LS!!!
BTW, have you check out the latest new generation of the ES350/ES300h? Very smooth and refined. But not to the level of the new and latest LS500. 7/8 of the LS500 at 1/2 of the price. I know, I know, ES350 is a V6 FWD and the LS500 is turbo V6 and RWD.......
