Tires

It really depends how and where you drive it. But generally, it's an AT 18" tire. No resons for 21" tires. For some people, 20" tires can work fine. And some people need 17" offroad MT tire :-)
I use 275/65R18 Michelin LTX AT2. It's an AT tire, good mix for highway and light to moderate offroading. If you plan to do more offroading, BFG KO2 could be the right way to go.
For winter, I use 275/65R18 Bridgestone Blizzak DMV2. I doubt that there is a better tire for winter, this is probably the best choice.

My 2015 LX570 came with 285/50R20 Dunlops. I've decided to go with the Michelin LTX M/S. Had the LTX-M/S2 on our LX470 and my wife said it was better than ever. Purchased her the new 2015 and she passed away a year later. I will keep her 570 for as long as I'm kicking.
Thanks again,
Mike

I'm in FL, we do one trip to Colorado a year, alternating Summer and Wintertime. Just got new rubber this past weekend, Michelin TOUR HP LATTITUDE BW 285/50R20 112V....$1,033 out the door.....

Yes, I agree. But most people here around Lake Tahoe, who were used to have studded tires, now use Blizzaks and are fine. I drive the mountain passes almost every day and no problems in any conditions. If the road is open, you can do it with Blizzaks. Just a very limited number of people now really need studs. For me, it would be difficult as I need to drive to Vegas or L.A. during the winter and I really don't want to do it on studded tires :-)

There are far too many variables to talk about a "best" tire and previous posters have alluded to many of them.
What are you priorities?
You're not going to find many Summer Performance tires sized (or appropriate) for the LX/LC. What you will see is All Season, All Terrain and Winter specific tires.
Decide on what driving you do and we can point you in the right direction.
What are you priorities?
- On hard surface daily driver?
- Off road on well maintained smooth'ish trails?
- Off road in the middle of nowhere going places where no man has gone before?
- Poor weather driving?
