I would like to see Doug’s update in 10 years after all “rival” models cutting edge technology is outdated, he’s spent thousands on the Mercedes GLS and Range Rover’s failed adaptive air shocks and compressors, replaced the BMW X7’s turbos and fixed multiple oil leaks, and watched the plastic interior trim pieces on his Escalade and Navigator peel away before his very eyes.

The Landcruiser/LX have no rivals and Toyota does not build them to rival any other vehicle. The ride quality of the bulletproof hydraulic suspension makes me forget about the unreliable problematic air suspension vehicle I’ve previously owned. With good source material, the Mark Levinson Reference system is the best I’ve heard.

I just bought a 1 owner 2013 LX570 Luxury Package with 92,000 miles for less than 35k. This was a $90,000 vehicle new. I step inside and the ride, drive and interior still feels like a $90,000 vehicle. Per Lexus records, previous owner only did scheduled maintenance, brakes and tires. Dare say that about the “competitors” at the same mileage.

I would agree with you for your 2013. Not so much for 2019.

Yeah I could see how it could be disappointing at $95,000 because for $65,000 - $70,000 less you can literally get the same truck.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but minus a few interior/exterior styling changes and non critical tech add ons, a 2008-2015 LX570 drives the same engine wise, suspension (even with high mileage because these trucks are overbuilt) and Mark Levinson sounds the same and there are no major technological advancements to this truck over the past 12 years like other automakers?!

We'll use Apple or Google if we've got coverage. If no coverage, we go to Garmin and 1:24000 maps for where we're going...we also carry backup paper maps, and a good compass.

I'd say that pretty much covers things.

the 2016+ some what feels different. The suspension is more tighter brakes are more sensitive and the interior is an upgrade. Yes it’s the same engine / trans but feels different when you drive them back to back. I have a 2015 and a 2018. I bought the 2015 later. I didn’t mind spending the money for a brand new because at 100k you can still sell these SUV’s for 30k and are very hard to find in mint condition 10 yrs later.
And we do cross country trips in these - totally worth it.

I have seen my neighbor go thru every model of the Range Rover every 2/3 yrs because he’s always having issues.
