Hi folks, new to the forum. I'm currently looking at a LX570 that spent half of its life in the North (currently 80k miles). The selling dealer doesn't have a lift but took some undercarriage photos. Love to get the opinion of the community if this is something I should still consider for purchase. Thanks
Personal opinion, this doesn't look bad at all for age and mileage. I live in northern Michigan, and we get the privilege of salted roads from November through March. If you don't wash your vehicle at least once a week in the salt months, rust gets bad fast. I've seen four and five year old pickups with rust coming through the fenders and tailgates. Brake lines rusted through and leaking in the same time. If you have a vehicle that is say eight to ten years old, and hasn't been washed in the winter, forget it. You probably can't get the break bleeder open or even get any bolts off from the underside because they have rusted into one piece with whatever they are bolted to. Better have plenty of PB Plaster, a torch, and when all else fails, a grinder or cutting torch to get them off.
From these pictures, this vehicle looks pretty darn good. Just my opinion.
