Maintenance records don't show alot, but at least front and rear brakes were replaced. Still sketchy they didn't CPO this vehicle.

I would assume it doesn't have ML either since there is no mention of it on the website in the optional packages. And I don't see the Mark Levinson badges on the speaker grilles. The Mark Levinson system is an outstanding system. I have it in my 13 LX570. It is one of the best features of the vehicle.

Me personally, I would pass on this vehicle because its a pretty stripped down LX priced comparable to those that are CPO and fully loaded. Unless they knock like 5k off the asking price.

I know you like the fact its local, however you most likely could find a much better deal and a much better truck buying a CPO from a dealer in another state even with paying the extra $500-$1000 in shipping. Being CPO and purchasing from Lexus, you are protected if the truck shows up to your doorstep not as it was described.

I would check this one out and ask the dealer if they could meet you halfway on the shipping costs. Black on Black, cheaper, more options and it's CPO. Again, the difference in mileage is a moot point on these trucks. I bought my 13 LX with 92,000 miles on it and it's pretty much a brand new truck

Just test drove this ML TV 2017. Red interior. Interior not as clean as the 2016. Very noticeable undercarriage rust ‘16 didn’t notice any. What do you think?

I'd walk. The dealer wants $200 for tires filled with nitrogen...there is NO advantage on a non-race car, and the advantage on a race car is arguable.

Not sure about your state, but a $500 doc fee is also ridiculous.

I haven’t started haggling yet. I’ll get them to take it out. What’s your thought on the rust? Is that acceptable?

at 20k when they did the front and rear brake job.... tech said s/he had to replace rotors because after resurfacing the existing rotors became too 'thin' (out of spec) and hence had to replace rotors too.... that's weird...I used to work at Toyota / Lexus as a tech and many times I could cut 2x (at the very least ONCE) especially on Land Cruiser... I wonder if the SA wants to make some more $$$ while the tech wants to get paid while doing less work.... but it's good they replaced rotors... But at 20k tires had to be changed.... Those should be factory tires... can't be that bad!!!! But again happy to see they replaced tires too!

I used to live in Brookline.... Always drove thru watertown and went into that Lexus dealership a few times! Missed Boston!

Anyways the undercarriage doesn't look that bad at all. Oil change intervals are every 10k (although I do mine at 5k) on the LX (0-20 weight full syn oil). 30k coming up and brake fluid should have been done too. Did they do it? Car looks good but skeptical why the Lexus dealer doesn't want to make it CPO (just 2k more to make it CPO and they can sell for more $$$$$). I have a little reservation on this point... don't rush buying the car, shop elsewhere (like in NH / ME / RI even NY?)

Skip the nitrogen.... useless in this vehicle... As w/ the doc fees, check with your state DMV and see what the standard doc fee is...

Thank you, sir. The undercarriage photo is from the 2017 I test drove today that with ML and TV and 36k miles.

I suspect the 2016 was driven aggressively and also noticed the 2017 drove a lot smoother.

Pics too small. Was the underbody armor removed for the pics?

Given your location, I cannot see how rust can be avoided on any vehicle, unless it's rises with clean water every day. If I lived in the NE or Rust Belt, I'd expect rust...I'd probably look at more westerly states.

I think this is pretty clean for a three year old truck in New Jersey. Lol

Wow that’s clean! TY

Now it makes me want to keep searching. The undercarriage I saw today seem like a 10 year old car.

I think I need to get you to visit Idaho and see what the USFS and BLM (Bureau of Land Management) call "roads". We just had over an inch of rain. You'd love it.
