Today after loading multiple DVD’s that have worked in the past, I am getting a strange noise and error message that says “disc error”. Any troubleshooting tips before dealer has to tear apart the dash to replace?

 

Even those old school DVD players for home (and for computer use) tend to fail overtime. Either it's the disc that's unreadable (but in your case shouldn't be as u have been using them for a while and to have multiple dvd discs fail chances are slim), of the player itself failed.
