Angry LX 570 - Repairs While Under Warranty

Good Afternoon, I mentioned in an earlier post that Flo (Florida) is on my team now. She is a hot number too 2015, LX 570, she is gorgeous. She has 53k miles. Since I am within the 90 day warranty, I want to get my money's worth. I've sent it back to the vendor and they had it for five days. I get that the GPS required software, because when I checked the settings it hadn't been update since 2014. Please advise, how can I verify that Navigation and Infotainment systems are updated. I went back through settings and it still reads 2014, yet they claimed to have updated it via invoice item "navigation update unit software ptxxxxhdd0719."

The second pressing issue is the brakes are spongy, They reported back ***"Rust forming on rear rotors digging into pads causing an uneven friction surface. Resurface front and rear pads and rotors, grease hardware and bleed the system. Multiple attempts to resurface rear pads failed. Need to replace the rear brake pads. Another note reads that the Mechanical Diagnostic-Bleed Brakes unable to communicatee with our Scanner operation. I recall low brake fluid being a contributing factor to spongy brakes in the 3rd gen. I'm concerned. Please advise.

I will be taking the vehicle to Lexus on Saturday Morning for a pre-purchase inspection. I'd appreciate any recommend fixes up to 50K and through 60k miles and any info on the infotainment and spongy brakes.

Thanks in Advance.

The settings menu should show the most recent upgrade date...you can call Lexus and verify. Who claimed to do the "upgrade". A Lexus or Toyota can verify.

I've worked on cars for more than a while, and I've never heard about resurfacing pads...sounds like you're buying it from a poverty dealer. "Our scanner unable to communicate..." means they don't have Toyota software. So why didn't they take it to a shop that could? Brakes can be bled manually, like any other vehicle. You do need Toyota software to bleed the ABS booster and that needs doing along with the brakes. Your owners manual will have recommended service intervals. See if your PPI on Saturday can address that.
