I’ve had this noise problem for a couple years now. My dealership changed the lifters last year Aug but noise is back again 🤦🏻♀️
Has anyone heard this before? You hear like a clicking sound after initial crank
Help pls. To date, I’m not getting anywhere at my dealership.
I hate the phrases “it’s normal” or “I’m not hear what you’re talking about” 😡. I drive my car every single day and never heard this noise when I first purchased it brand new!!! You own and drive your car daily... You would know any differences, right?! 🤦🏻♀️

We might be better able to advise if you could record a minute long video and post it

Hi 🙋🏻♀️ Thnx for your reply. My brother mentioned to me about Toyota and Lexus owners with V6s & V8s claiming the same. He thinks it may have something to do with the redesign of the engines 🤷🏻♀️ my husband owns a 2016 Tacoma and it makes the same noise here and there 🤦🏻♀️
My car only has 21,400+ miles on it and dealership says there’s nothing wrong 🙄😡

Try putting in 5w30 - seems to quiet the engine. I've been running it since i've purchased and it is noticeably quieter. The 5.7 in the US is the only country to require 0w20. Blame the EPA.

You could also let your brother know that the Land Cruiser and LX engines are assembled in a Japanese factory with 100% Japanese parts. Tundra engines are produced in the US, with less than 100% Japanese parts. US engines have caused at least one TSB if not more since they were introduced...FAR less reliable than Japanese engines, and brother is talking apples v. oranges.

Maybe the "redesign" he is getting at is the move from the 4.0L V6 in the Taco to the 3.5L - two completely different engines. The 5.7L is a dinosaur and hasn't been changed.

I simply responded to OP's post that stated "My brother mentioned to me about Toyota and Lexus owners with V6s & V8s claiming the same. He thinks it may have something to do with the redesign of the engines."
