Default Correct tire pressure

Hi everyone
Need some idea for the correct tire pressure
I just bought a 2015 LX570 months ago I got the car with the grappler g2 tires they were making a lot of noise on the highway and changed them to Michelin defender I am happy with these tire now the only thing that is confusing me is the correct tire pressure

the door sticker says 33 psi FR but the tire shop inflated tire to 35 psi and when 5 people are sitting in the car visually the tires look under-inflated I chatted with Michelin reps on their website they said 33 is recommended
Some websites on google shows 50 when I select the vehicle and I know that’s the max
the tires are 285/50r20

33 psi should be fine. Tire shops or a dealer usually overinflate tires (especially in winter) because they do not want their customers return back with TPMS warning light on. And even 2 psi difference makes the ride less comfortable. BTW, I suppose that this is a standard P tire, not LT tire which could require a higher pressure.

33 psi is the recommended tire pressure (on the sticker) of the LX. I set mine to 35psi (but pressure will get higher as temperature rises though). But visually looking at the tire for 'how inflated / deflated' isn't right (of course unless the tire is so deflated) since each tire model has a different sidewall stiffness and simply gauge the 'right pressure' based on how deflected the tires are is not recommended. Underinflated tires will result in tire wear on the edges while over inflated tires will wear on the center treads.

33 PSI is enough to handle your vehicle's mass on normal road use. Tire pressures may vary depending on the vehicle's use and as a critical element of tire maintenance, following the recommended air pressure by the Manufacturer can ensure the safety and longevity of your tires. Under/Overinflating may have negative impacts on your ride quality, fuel economy, and tire longevity.

Question

Your tires have a maximum load rating of ~2750 lbs. at a maximum inflation pressure of 50 psi. 33 psi is what Toyota recommends for regular road use. No idea what Toyota recommends for pressure when the truck is loaded to it's maximum. My 200 Series weighs 6100 lbs. with a full tank, me (~ 175 pounds) and my 40 pound cattle dog.

If the truck's weight is close to Toyota's maximum ~ 7500 pounds, OBVIOUSLY you'll need to increase tire pressure. Not sure by how much, but Michelin should have an online chart.

Default Correct Tire Pressure

I have been keeping my Michelin Defenders at 42psi, which was recommended by my tire shop. I had been under inflating at about 34. Rides much better. I do a lot of highway and mountain driving. And its hot as hell out here in west Texas…

I plan to replace the RFT's with Michelin CrossClimate2 tires when the time comes. They have good reviews and I had mounted a set on a previous car that we owned and found them to be an excellent tire.

Does your vehicle require the XL rated tire? The oem sticker is giving the recommended 33psi for the exact tire listed on the sticker. P-rated, Metric, XL and LT tires are usually all rated for different weight at the same PSI so you might be running the incorrect PSI.

i have been shooting for 38 psi in my 20" Geolanders.
I have to admit it is hard to keep it on that pressure...these huge tires act as temperature gauges! In the morning in winter it might read 32, then half an hour at highway speeds and it is up to 37 or 38.
then if there is a hot day, on the highway they are running 42 or higher, and need to pull off and let some juice out.

i am usually on the highway for a road trip, so i want the least rolling resistance (at the expense of ride smoothness), so that is why i run them higher
