I always wonder why the LX engine seems louder than others!!
Anyways, you guys get me hooked. It's underpowered and feels 'it needs some turbos'. Now if 93 octane isn't avail, what will happen if 91 octane is used? Shouldn't the computer automatically adjust the timing due to lower octane? Will you get 'engine knock' especially when under load? Also does it need to replace the OEM fuel pump? Any experience w/ longevity of this SC unit (that's one major consideration)? In terms of labor hours, that $1800 dealer charged to install, how many labor hours was that (since each dealer in different region carries different labor rate)?

Octane etc.
I’d suggest you reach out to Ryan @Harrop. I recall the fuel pump being replaced with a high pressure unit provided with the SC kit.

Update after 5,000 miles and 5 months. This supercharger upgrade is fantastic, period. Power is effortless, engine is very quiet, accelerates up hills, just plain fun. I would not trade/swap this in for a ‘22, period.

Super cool! I'd love to supercharge mine but don't want to lose warranty or be forced to use 93. Still tempting.......
How would you say the fuel mileage has changed? Improvement? Or is it an even bigger pig?

And braking?

No change really that I have noticed - I did have a slight increase in mileage on long trips. I don't understand the "void warranty" comment. Mine has not been voided.

Braking with stock brakes is unchanged and just as showroom delivered. I'm not drag racing, or driving like an idiot.
The LX is now much quieter, and now has effortless power that is exceptional. That's what I wanted.
Referring to my opening comment in this thread, I upgraded to the Harrop supercharger because the engine always felt TOO noisy when even modestly accelerating and like it was always working to hard. Both were a personal thing with me that may not bother other people. Remember that 383 HP under the hood translates to only about 260 HP at the wheel hubs. A 2022 with 408HP or whatever, only means an increased HP at the wheels to maybe 280hp...?
BTW - I kept all of my original parts which will likely be reinstalled if I ever disposed of this LX - which I have no plans to do. .

Lexus Test Driver
I’ve done business with Northtown Lexus and the service manager for 28 years so Greg was happy to take on the project after he saw the product literature and talked to Harrop in Dayton OH who were great to deal with. It took me 8 mos to make the investment decision. The LX just felt underpowered and I needed to address that condition. Now I am I am 10 out of 10 on this Supercharger and love driving this LX. As I said previously, it’s super quiet, and has effortless power that it never had before. It does require 93 octane or an octane booster if 93 isn’t available. BTW, The dealer asked me to leave my LX for three extra days after install for other LX owners who wanted to see and drive it. There were buyers as a result.
I remember Greg’s name mentioned when I had questions about work done.
Shout out to Mason who sold me the vehicle and Morgan who did all the paperwork.
Had I seen this thread, I would’ve asked about adding the supercharger before they shipped it to me in Florida.

Three years with my 2019 supercharged LX, and I’m just under 36,000 miles on the odometer. Zero issues. Love this LX. Its super quiet, and the torque at any speed is amazing, and it has effortless power. Best $$$ for a vehicle upgrade that i ever spent. I’m keeping this one, period. I recommend this upgrade to anyone who is considering it.
