Default Rear entertainment system questions

I am still waiting for my remote control from CarMax.

Can I operate the RES from the front?

I tried connecting my laptop to the HDMI port using an HDMI - USBC cable while using the front menu controls. I selected the RES as my source and powered it on. I tried playing a video from youtube online but it did not appear in the rear screens. Do I need the remote control to fully operate the RES?

Thanks!

You do need the remote to control the rear functions. The only thing you can control from the front is to play DVD.

Tuandino,

Thanks for that information.

Carmax told my wife today that they ordered the wrong remote (for an Escalade)

So we are still waiting for the remote.

Hi all, I will just add my question on there. Does the RES originally come with 2 remotes or just 1?

Thanks
