Hello,

If and/or when you are looking to replace the entire AHC system with a regular suspension setup I would be willing to take the old components off of your hands for a price. Just let me know what works best for you!

Thanks,

Brandon

Default AHC accumulator globes and fluid replacement

I just replaced my accumulator globes and fluids. Total cost $600. The accumulator globes are all over eBay for around $500. That's what i paid. Shipped from Japan. Genuine Toyota/Lexus parts. For qty 2, AHC fluid, also genuine Toyota/Lexus, I paid $100 from Lexus dealership. The hardest part was a few bolts on the armor that needs to be removed in order to access the globes.
That might be the most ridiculous thing ive heard in a long time regarding Lexus vs German techs🤣 This just in, Lexus techs are certified to work on Lexus vehciles. That's all they work on. Why would a German mechanic be better working on a Japanese vehicle they don't normally work on? That's insane. Find a Toyota/Lexus specialist to work on said vehicles. Goes without saying. German mechanics just so happen to be busier because their vehicles are more finicky and breakdown more freelquently. Coming from experience. I've never had a serious issue with a Toyota/Lexus. Contrast with my BMW and Mercedes vehicles. No comparison.
In closing, $20k plus to fix the suspension is absurd. The struts, shocks, AHC pump and globes won't cost over $3k-$5k. Labor is a huge unkown. I personally wouldn't seek out a German mechanic to do this labor. That makes Zero sense.
Best of luck. You have options.

I haven’t had good success with Lexus dealers figuring things out as the LX AHC suspension seems to be above their expertise. My experience with Lexus techs is that they aren’t as skilled as techs of a German makes (probably due to less experiencing troubleshooting) and they either say we can’t figure it out, just start throwing parts at the car or give up and say it’s operating as normal.

I would find an Indy mechanic or good shop who has worked with the AHC system before. Let them diagnose, then source your own parts online. You can save a boatload getting genuine OEM parts online rather than sourcing through Lexus Dealer.

You could have a combination of issues, rusted AHC lines, bad AHC pump, and or your AHC Accumulator globes which holds AHC fluid and controls the dampening of the LX may be shot and they are an integral part of the system. Lexus wants $750 for each globe and there are 4 to replace. Add in their inflated labor costs and you are looking at $5000 just to replace the globes. I ordered all 4 OEM Toyota shipped straight from Japan warehouse (2 front globes https://www.megazip.net/zapchasti-dl...-rh-4914160020
2 rear globes https://www.megazip.net/zapchasti-dl...-rh-4915160020) and paid $650 shipped to my door. I sent this video to my Indy shop (https://youtu.be/k5I0cCCtQ4o) and they only charged my 2 hours of labor ($250). Five 1 liter bottles of AHC fluid will run close to $90 shipped verses $130 purchased from Lexus. Here is part # for fluid (0888681221) put in Google choose cheapest online dealer. Same goes for any other parts like shocks, find the Toyota part number and save 30% or so off msrp buy ordering online.

Also this thread may help you. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/09-...ilure.1162584/

I’m guessing you could probably fix your entire suspension for less than 5k.
