Default Transmission issue 2021

I purchased a 2021 lx 570 back in September and I have had nothing but problems with it since then. I have brought it to the dealership at least four times and it is Still not fixed. Let me just preface this by saying that I have owned and LS 430, ES 330, LX 570, SC 430, and now another LX 570. All of my vehicles have driven like a Lexus should which, is very smooth and quiet. This new one feels like it gets hung up in between 1st and 2nd and When it shifts I can hear the transmission whining. It feels like it is in sport mode but it’s not. The service manager said that there is nothing wrong with it, they drove the other one on the lot and it does the same thing. When I am in the vehicle by myself I generally do not have the music on, I like the silence but I can hear the noise and when it shifts I can hear that too. The dealership has kept it on several occasions and they say nothing is wrong with it but it sounds like a low gear hunting issue. Not sure what to do or if anyone else has experienced this issue. I don’t even want the vehicle anymore and I paid $105,000 for it and it definitely does not drive like a Lexus should. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I'd call Lexus customer service and have a factory engineer assigned to your issue.

The dealer is keeping you in the dark - drive the other one on the lot yourself.

Is this your first LX with the 8 speed? There is a learning curve to driving it. Particularly when slowing down to a near stop then accelerate. If you hit the gas too hard it will hunt and not be pleasant. I also hate cruise control when doing 60mph on rolling hills. It constantly down shifts to slow then into 8th for flats. Back into a harsh down **** to go up the hill. It’s terrible but it’s not the car. It’s the 8 speed.

drive another one. I’d guess you’re experiencing life of a typical LX with a 8 speed. Our land cruiser was much more harsh.

Yes, my previous one was a 2014 and it was much smoother and quieter all around.

I had a 2018 tundra with the 6 speed. Much smoother shifting. My GS is excellent. Unfortunately more gears more hunting. All for the sake of 1 mpg.

I had a lx570 2015 and a 2018 for a while inused to drive them back to back, no difference in transmission or smoothness.

In fact the 2018 is much smoother than the older ones. I also had a 2008 lx570. Verdict is the same. Same with ls460, seems like an issue with yr car.

seems like you need to go to a different dealer and complain. Have then update the tranny if there an tsb out?

Hello buddy.
I have owned (and currently own) a 570 (-2014) with a six-speed AB60 transmission for over 6 years. I can say that I have never heard how it works.
But last year I purchased an updated model, also a 2021 model. It already has an eight-speed transmission called AE80F. At idle, I hear a constant whining sound, similar to a faulty power steering (
), and when I start driving, I am irritated by a humming/whistling sound that reflects the gear shift... and can be heard up to 40-50 miles (
).
I, like you, contacted the dealer. They showed me exactly the same car, the same year of manufacture, but with less mileage. It had ALMOST the same sound.
I understand and guess that this can hardly be called a malfunction, but while the warranty is valid, I plan to demand that the dealer solve this problem.
Frankly, I am very unhappy with these sounds. I truly regret that I bought this car.

I wanted to ask you if your story has developed? Have you made any improvements to the gearbox?

By the way, in my search for the truth, I came across an interesting service bulletin. Unfortunately, it cannot be applied in our case, since the parts are absolutely not interchangeable, but... it’s an interesting idea.
