LX570 BBK Install

LX570 BBK Install
Well, the wife warped the rotors on the LX, so I went both feet in with the 380mm 6pot/4pot front/rear kit from SOS Performance - also sprung for the 2 piece rotors up front. Surprisingly, the price from SOS was better than I could get thru turn14 directly from StopTech (
via my brother's shop).
Sucky stock potato-chip brakes:
Of course the stock rotor was rust welded to the hub, so m8 bolt to the rescue:
I'm here for the gang bang:
New bracket on with some torque paint - so I don't have to check it all the time with a torque wrench, the paint blob will break off/crack if it starts coming loose - plus it's a nice fluorescent yellow color so easy to spot:
Huge red 6pots, what else is there to say:
And driver's front all buttoned up:
Time for the Saudi F1 race, so I'll finish up the other side this afternoon and get some pics with the wheels on.
The rears are likely a next-weekend-problem, but I'll update the thread further when I get those done.

Yea, these are the StopTech ST60 calipers, so there are tons of pad brands and compounds to pick from. I went with the least aggressive pads from SOS Performance (Hawk HB122Z.710 Performance Ceramic) so I didn't have to deal with a ton of brake dust and squealing, which my wife would undoubtedly complain about. The same is true for the rears, which are ST41 calipers I believe.

Ok got the rear kit buttoned up this evening.
Trimmed the rear dust shields with an air nibbler:
Brackets installed (there are also bushings that get installed in the hub, the factory rear calipers are M14 mounting bolts and these are M12):
Calipers installed and rear lines bled:
Note that a spacer is required in the rear - technically the 21" rims fit and clear the rear calipers, but it is mighty close and any deflection in the rim would destroy the rear caliper.
Will follow up once I get the header install finished and put some more miles on the truck.

Wrapped up the header project finally so I could get the truck off the lift and put a few miles on the rear brakes - it was already awesome with just the 6pots up front but it's even better now - less nose dive under heavy braking and the balance is perfect. SOS Performance is awesome (https://sosperformance.com/) and the kit was worth every penny!
