Woodgrain cost
Got a quote from a dealer today… $2,683 for drivers door bubinga Woodgrain, and center console ashtray surround Woodgrain. Wow. Anybody have specific part numbers so I can do it myself for 1/3 the cost?

You'll find PN's for just about anything Toyota or Lexus related here...https://partsouq.com
They ship fast, prices are normally way below a dealer's, especially considering no labor will be billed.

We had the wood crack right above the AC vents. It was around 1800 for the whole piece. Luckily under warranty.

I took off the center trim in a 2017 LX I bought certified. The wood is badly faded and doesn't match the door trim. I was going to sand it and stain it. I ended up doing nothing because when you look at it from behind the "wood" is comically thin. It approaches a vinyl stickler label levels of thinness, stretched over a plastic base. I'd imagine it's glued on there. Any aggressive sanding would likely get you down to the plastic or metal substrate.
It does look like you can remove JUST the wooden trim element, as it's held in place by tabs and Phillips screws, but you can't seem to get the part on its own, just the whole thing complete with vents, tabs, and clock.
I have the walnut matte finish, it seems the shiny coated wood lasts longer but might scratch easier. XPEL does make a film kit to cover all of these elements but it likely won't stick to my matte finish option.
I may try to complain loudly that since this is L/Certified (and I paid a really hefty premium) that the wood trim should be covered under warranty as if they truly "Certified" it they would have replaced this trim during the process.

The wood in these isn't great, at least compared to other Lexus wood jobs. I have a +14 with the Mahogany. The steering wheel is one of the best I've ever used with the thickness and the wood, however the paneling on the doors the wood is too thin. I have an imperfection by the seat memory buttons. It doesn't bother me, but yeah.
It's decent enough but compared to the wood in my LS430 it's not even remotely close. 100 series had this kind of wood and leather I'm talking about.

Question folks.... the 'wood looking' panels on the dash / doors / center console / shifted are 'fake plastic wood look'...how about the wood on the steering wheel? Is that real wood / still fake?
