My 2010 LX570 was nearly dead yesterday (only dash light is red battery indicator, nothing else). I connected a CTEK Polar 4.3 to it to charge it and the entire time heard a clicking noise w/ it stuck on 2 - Soft Start. Left it overnight and this morning it had errored out. I'm guessing the car was pulling all of the charge so battery wasn't getting any?

Disconnected the battery from the truck and began charging again. This time it quickly went through stages 1,2 and 3 (bulk charging) to stage 4 (Absorption) indicating that it thought the battery was charged and ready to use. Disconnected and tried again, same result. Tried a 3rd time and this time it settled on 3 (Bulk Charge) and appears now to be charging - for a bit over an hour so far anyway.

Battery is Interstate MTP-27F purchased and installed in February so 9 months old.

Truck does not get used a lot, maybe once per week or two on average and these are typically short 5-10 mile runs to a hardware/lumber store. I have not been trickle charging between uses.

Thoughts? Bad battery? Normal battery and normal or somewhat normal charger behavior and I need to trickle charge at least occasionally?

Do a battery test, AND an alternator output... if u like, u can also do a parasitic drain test. This should show you what's going on.
