To all the members. This is my first post.
The new LX600 allows the sets to fold flat. Then they can be raised vertically to allow greater storage room in the back of the LX. The second row seat behind the driver has the same system to secure the seat upright (the step and hook that attaches to the grab handle on the B pillar).
So here is the question. How do you secure the second row seat (behind the front row passenger)? On my previous LX570, the same system was used on the right and left side. I see no strap and hook on the with second row seat.
I went through the owner's manual and could not find any instructions.
Yours,
Lee

Sumfingwon,
Thank you for your reply. The video mentions the Tether to secure the second row, driver's side seat. I did not see any mention of the second row, passenger's seat tether. I will open the compartment where the tether should be tomorrow, My guess is the tether is for LHD models to prevent the seat tumbling forward and hitting the driver's seat while the car is in motion. I bet the right hand tether is only included on RHD models. I went to the parts department. Their schematic, shows that on the LX570, the tether is apparently secured by a bolt. On the LX600, it apparently secured by a cap bolt. I ordered a tether/bolt for both the LX570 and LX600. There is none in the US, so they will have to be shipped from Japan.

I am trying to remain civil on the forum. I understand Lexus's thinking on this issue. who ever decided to make this change does not drive a SUV and does not use it to haul large objects around. I am probably the 1% that does that.
