I think the answer might be the failure in the bearing which is causing the engine to vibrations or just completely fail. The new material is made from cast iron instead of aluminum so heat doesn’t dissipate as well so you have higher expansion or contraction of the material that lead it to crack. They will have take apart the engine to check for it. Seems like a common problem in the LX600, LS500, and the Tundras.

Damn, people seem to overreact much.

Toyota built probably over 500,000 of this engine variation since 2018 and we have 3 failures. Even if we have 300 failures we're talking about LESS THAN 1%. That's 99.xx% good.

What else are we asking for?

If this is true, that is 3 LX 600s at one Lexus dealer. That is very significant considering the number of these sold annually. Also Tundra forums have many reports of this same failure. There is something causing premature bearing failure....Im sure Toyota will get to the bottom of it and update the design.

I'm sure they will. But what about those with that bought the vehicle before the fix? This would be a costly recall. So do they cover it outside the warranty when a failure occurs?

Well I picked up my Fsport and its shaking. Almost like the transmission is slipping under moderate acceleration.

I doubt its the motor because it was doing it with 16 miles on it. Have 1,500 now.

Almost feels like the wheel and tire package is too heavy? I may go to a larger tire, but want to resolve this.

I can live with it but its annoying.

Ok I actually tested it and paid attention, the throttle is jumping around under smooth steady pedaled acceleration.

Smooth moderate acceleration and the RPMs are bouncing on the tach. Feels like trash in an old carburetor, I mean almost exactly like an old Ford LTD with old gas and trash floating in the system . If a shade tree mechanic can fix that Lexus can fix this.

Its probably some NVH programming run amuck. Hopefully this can be fixed. Its very annoying.

This is not really a good news at all as I just made an offer on a '24 F-SPORT.

do owners of the luxury have the same issue?

Not trying to dissuade you and I plan to keep it but its very annoying. I am posting this kinda stuff as it may persuade Lexus to pay attention, these cars earn their income.

Fsport production 4/24 and 1,550 miles as of today.

It smoothed out some since I picked it up at 16 miles but its still 80% there. Literally feels like trash in the gas and I can see why dealers were offering to flush the system.

No exaggeration so bad that I thought the dealer put 87 octane in it and I was running around DC area (not from there) trying to find a sunoco 104 station to top off at or some non lead octane booster. My GF talked me into not messing with it and I ran it to a little under a 1/4 tank and filled up with 93oct at a name brand station and no change.


TO BE COMPLETELY FAIR I AM GOING TO BE CHILL ABOUT THIS TILL IT HITS 2,000 miles. But I have a set of wheels sitting in my dining room I want to put on asap. Also an auto stop start disabler and trailer brake controller.


I may load a trailer with 5,000 or so pounds and go hammer on it if I have time.

And also what are the Fsport differences? Rear springs, limited slip, and swaybar? Any engine tuning differences? Do the other models have the sport and sport + settings?


I would like to test some smaller wheels as well, its really jerky unless the road is 100% ice smooth.


Does anyone tune these? Think my European car tuner guys can mess with this and not void the warranty and if so what are the tell tell signs of that rear bearing issue? I dont mind voiding the warranty as I have had several diesel trucks where exhaust parts fell off and its not a big deal.

Thanks @RedneckJoe for offering a test drive on your new LX but I live in Nebraska. I know Lexus will take care of the issues but hate to drop 110k on a new vehicle and deal with fixes.

I saw that i don’t think that is the issue but who knows.

Hard and light acceleration and its smooth. Moderate and its jerky as heck.


I am going to lower the tire pressure tonight.

Towing a 3,500lb trailer across town helped some, aggressive and bumpy roads. 1,850 miles now.

Still feel it though. I think I will figure this out.

Issues with the tires, shocks, torsen diff, middle seat row loose, and some computer programming is some of what I am leaning towards.
